KNOB OF THE WEEK
In his post match interview backstage Barbara the twink spoke how he was "surprised" by the "frosty handshake" from Peter Wright, He said he "doesn't know what goes into his mind"
Is it any wonder the handshake was frosty. Maybe Wright like so many others thought Dimitri was acting the fucking prick. The twink after winning instead of shaking hands with his opponent ran around the stage, got on his knees, and then danced like a spastic child with ADHD on ritalin, seemingly this prancing cunt is some poor child's father. Imagine your dad acting like that. In his on-stage post match interview he screeched like a fucking simpleton. His opponent a guy in his 50s dressed like an explosion in a paint factory almost seemed the normal one in comparison.
That said I have no sympathy for Krusty's loss, he ran his mouth how he was going to win the event and it would be probably be easier than last year, and he failed to back it up. He constantly changed his darts, even when leading 4-1 changed, because he thought he could play better, shows his ego.
I am glad he lost but Dimitri's celebrations and actions are ridiculous and almost child like.
THE MATCHPLAY.
1. Ratajski and Bunting bored me senseless, and the crowd was dead for most of this only coming alive for a leg when bunting hit 6 perfect darts at around 8-5 down. The most alive the crowd was when it ended. Bunting made it 6 first round defeats.
2.Callan Wygz, who looked like a complete fucking spastic with his matted hair stuck across his head in that heat took on the The twink who made light work of him. Part of me wanted it to go the full distance, if only to watch how the comb over held up in that heat.
3. Peter Wright who has played well below his standard for months ran his mouth how he will win the comp easier than last year. I love a bit of confidence, but he was hardly in a position to be that cocky I thought considering his form, and part of me wanted Madars to win. Alas it was not to be. It was so easy Krusty was able to fuck about mid game.
4. Clayton started well and led 3-2 against Rowby, but Rowby dug deep and sent the #8 seed out the gap. Rowby missed 2 match darts for 10-6, but held for the 10-7 win. Clayton played well, Rowby just played better.
5. The scruffy cheat Searle took on dirk van Duijenbode. Dirk hit 7 maximums in the last 8 legs and took out 138 for a 10-8 victory. Both players averaged over a ton. A great game of darts.
6.Dolan led Noppert 6-4 and a major upset was on the cards, but a combination of Noppert upping his game and Dolans' doubling going to shit saw Noppert turn it around and win the last 6 legs.
7. Each time Gurney broke against Ando, the Scot would break back, with checkouts of 130 and 134 for 5-5 at the break that saw 6 breaks of throw. After the break Ando threw a load of shit and Gurney missed a dart for 9-5, as Ando held, then broke and was threw for 8-8 but Gurney broke and with it 9-7 Gurney threw for the match as Ando grinned his way to a loss. He wont be missed
8.Last up was Bellyboy versus Gilding who looks like he grew up in the shadows of the 4th reactor at Chernobyl. His meltdown started when he missed a dart at tops for 6-2, and Bellyboy took out a 161 to break in another leg, Gilding broke right away and when he took out 130 he led 8-4. Gilding missed a dart for 9-5 and that was the beginning of the end as Smith broke and won the match even missing the usual multiple match darts.
9. I missed the Culen game against Heta, and only saw the score, and seems that Heta had as many good legs as Toon Greebe and Heather Mills combined.
10. I was still in the pub for Wade against Lukeman. When I saw Wade's opponent I thought "by christ Buster bloodvessel let himself go" and not even cold pints on a wonderful evening could make this game could lift my spirits watching that shit.
11. Fatpot missed a chance to break at 5-5 against MvG, and it was closer than I expected to that point. When Fatpot missed tops to level, MvG broke for 8-6 but with a 171 Lewis missed multiple darts to break back and Lewis was lucky to hold after MvG missed 2 match darts, but MvG had the darts for a win, and he wrapped it up 10-7 with a mere 90 average. Another hyped match that failed to deliver any real drama.
12. I was getting sick of the ass kissing of Humphrie Dumpty so when the Asp deservedly led 4-1 at the interval, I was happy. Asp held and despite 4 missed darts, broke for 6-1. Asp missed the bull to hold but returned for a 7-1 lead. Comms were shuffling around for excuses. Asp ran out the winner and gave speech afterwards how he was annoyed everyone wrote him off, except plenty people picked him to win including John Part.Humphries looked perplexed not knowing whether to go looking for digitalis or go price up some rope at a builders yard.
13. When the dull Rob Cross is the most charismatic player in a match you know things are bad. Dobey has as much charisma as Wes Newton who had less charm than a bucket of warm piss. To his credit Dobey played well to lead 4-1 at the interval. Cross, like the other members of the "Right Said Fred" tribute act of MvG and Lukeman was chucking shit, and was soon 7-2 down. When Dobey broke for 8-2 at the interval it looked over
Who would have thought Cross would miss match darts which he did and still won
14. Portuguese Winstanley and Clemens the Marshmallow man followed and Jose led 4-1 at the first break which did not really reflect the play, Clemens then held and broke for 4-3, but Jose broke twice and led 7-3 at the second interval.
Clemens with 6 perfect darts broke with an 11 darter, and with the aid of a maximum held for 5-7, in a game that was a high standard.Jose held for 8-5, and there was no way back as Jose took out 136 for the win.
15.Next up was the coal scavenger with teeth brighter than a miners light, against the German spacehopper Schindler, with Schindler 3-2 up at the first interval which had 4 breaks of throw in it. Schindler broke after the interval, but Price made it 6 breaks after Schindler missed darts to hold. The breaks kept coming and after 8 breaks and two holds it was 5-5 at the interval in a great watch. Price then really stepped it up at 7-7
and hit two 11 darters. Schindler took out 91 to hold for 8-9, but Price had the darts for the win and wrapped it up with a 91 checkout also. Belting game.
16. Next up was Dave Dismal against the prick Huybrechts, I thought how long would it be before the prick lost and would be on twitter complaining about something, he always is. Then he is from Belgium a country famous for pedos and chocolate, which go hand in hand. At 7-7 and multiple breaks Chizzy broke and held and with 3 140s, chizzy broke and sealed the win.
LAST 16
I was surprised a little at the schedule. You would think all the winners of Saturday and Sunday afternoon would be on the Tuesday
and the winners of Sunday night and Monday would be on Wednesday Instead you get players like Dirk who played Sunday afternoon playing his second game on Wednesday and those like MvG who played later on the Sunday night session later now have to play on Tuesday a day earlier also. I know fat cunts like Bellyboy might complain a game of darts every 2 days is a bit much. When I put it on and saw the panel, John Part had bigger tits than Emma Paton, but the biggest tit was sat in the middle in Wayne Mardle.
17. Rowby broke and held for a 2-0 against Dimitri who then won 3 on the spin to lead at the interval. He won the next session 3-1 also, and with a hold and break for 8-4, Rowby was gone and Dimi ran out a deserved winner.
18. Wade took out 16 to break and go 2-0 up against Asp, but asp broke right back, and when Wade missed a dart to break it was 2-2. Wade missed another dart to win the next leg and was broken and trailed 3-2 at the break, It remained close throughout until 8-8 but Asp hitting a max broke for 9-8 with a 82 checkout, and then held to go 10-8 and a leg away. Wade held but Asp had the darts for the win and he started with a max. Wade was fucked.A very enjoyable game.
19. Rataski averaged 97 in the first session against Wright and only won a single leg as Wright averaged 113. He went 5 -2 up with a 125 with 2 bulls.Ratajski was now averaging 100 and he was hanging on.Krusty broke again for 7-3 at the second interval. Credit to the Pole he kept in and managed to get it to 9-9
Then the pole missed 3 darts to break, and blew a golden chance as Krusty held. It hurt the Pole as he threw to save the game and Krusty started with 6 perfect darts, but missed 3 match darts and Ratajski took out 77 to hold. Brilliant drama.Wright missed 2 darts to hold, and the pole fucked up 64 to break, and Wright held. Rataski missed tops to hold but got another visit and held. 11-11. Wright held after hitting his 10th maximum and then after Ratajski failed to take out 95, Krusty took out 58 to win a fantastic game.
20. MvG broke early and led 4-1 t the interval. Cullen then broke and held and then both missed a rake of doubles as MvG was lucky to hold for 5-3. Cullen held as did MvG for 6-4 at the second interval. When MvG broke he was hitting top form and held for 8-4, this was over, and I went to bed as I was up very early.
21. Marc Almond took on Jimmy Hill's lovechild, Noppert with a break led 4-1 at the first interval, was soon 6-1 with another break. Guney did get a break back but 2 maximums saw Noppert break for 7-3 at the 2nd interval. When he held for 8-3 Noppert was averaging 105, took out 132 for 9-3, took out 103 for 10-3, before sealing the win 11-4.
22. Portuguese Winstanley led 4-1 against Job Cross at the first break averaging over 105. Cross won the second session 3-2 but trailed 4-6. Cross had a dart for a 10 darter and lost the leg after 3 missed doubles and the chance to break. Cross missed a dart to hold and Jose took out 120, for 8-4 despite Cross averaging 103. Jose with 6 perfect darts, held for 9-4, Cross did hold and even break, but when Jose broke for 10-6, he had the darts for the match but Cross kept fighting and broke back and took out a ton plus to hold but again Jose had the darts, and he started with 2 maximums and that was it, another fantastic game.
23.Chizzy did what he always does when he played Price, hit some big out shots, even had a lead but inevitably found a way to wilt at the end. Truth be told he deserved to lose as Vermin hit even better out shots of 161 and 164 and got better the longer the game went. anyone really surprised he lost ?
Bellyboy is the only player in the current top 10 to have never won what the PDC call a "Premier Event". Even players outside the top 10 like Aspinall a former UK open winner, Dimitri van den Bergh a former Matchplay winner, Joe Cullen a former Master champion have won premier events. I would not back that Bellyboy cunt in a final against anyone in the top 16. When Noppert and his 84 average was too much for Bellyboy, Noppert was not even in the top 16.
The nearest player to Bellyboy in the rankings without a "Premier Event" is Fluke Humphries, who just happens to be just as hyped as Bellyboy. As I said last week, it was time to back it up or shut up and both failed miserably proving yet again how over rated they are. Good players Yes, but until they start winning proper titles in fields that have all the elite their minor titles are not worth a flying fuck.
Don't give me this shit but Bellyboy won back to back players championships.....so did the telescope inspector Jamie Caven, and he thought he was something special too.
QUARTER FINALS
25. Wright took out 129 on the bull, and 100 to break twice and lead 4-1 at the first interval. Dimitri was averaging 106 and 5-1 down and it was looking bleak , but Dimitri then won 10 legs on the trot as Wright kept changing his darts as he could not keep with Dimitri. Wright then took out 140 to break, and then held, but missed a dart to break again.Dimi held for 12-7. Krusty then found some form and won 6 on the spin to lead 13-12. However Dimitri broke back and it was 13 -13 and he held to lead. Dimi missed the bull for 164 to break, and it was 14-14. Dimi held to move a leg away. Wright throwing to save the match threw a woeful leg and that was it, and when Dimi hit a 177, it was all over. yet another fantastic game.
26. Hunchback had the throw against Aspinall, and all 5 legs of the session went with throw, both averaging almost a ton. MvG missed 2 to break and Asp held. When MvG broke for 7-3, this was looking over. Asp needed to slow the pace.Asp held to trail 4-8 but the hunchback was running riot averaging 10 points more and holding with absolute ease and broke for 10-4. Nathan took out 106 just to hold and finally got a break and held again for 7-11 which looked like only making the score respectable.
Asp then hit checkouts of 112 and 164 for 10-14 but when he missed 2 darts to break as MvG held and moved a leg away.Asp held, but MvG 15-11 up was throwing for the win but Asp broke with 90 on the bull, and even held for 13-15, MvG missed 3 match darts and Asp broke yet again and was throwing to level the game, but MvG with his 12th maximum broke and took the win with a 146 checkout. Asp was 11-4 down and came within a leg of leveling. The last 8 legs were full of drama, but a case of Asp constantly chasing without ever seeming likely to win.
27. Dirks doubling in the first session against Noppert was atrocious, 7 in one leg on throw, and trailed 4-1. Dirk won the second session 3-2, which saw 3 breaks, and was averaging over a 100. Noppert missed a dart for 7-3, and Dirk won 4 legs on the spin and led 8-7 at the interval, but dirk went off the boil, as Noppert won the next session 4-1 to lead by 2 legs and dirk got within one leg, but when Noppert broke and held for 15-11 after Dirk missed the big number,it was looking all over. With Dirk on 47 to save the match Noppert took out 121 on the bull for the win.
Noppert was now just a grand behind Rob Cross in 9th place.
28. Price and Jose both hit 160 checkouts, as Price led 3-2, Price was averaging 12 more than Jose, but somehow Jose managed to get to 5-5 at the interval. At 6-5 the inevitable break came for Price but Jose threw a great leg and broke back but Price broke again and held for 9-5 after Jose missed 2 to break. 9-6 at the interval, with 12 points difference in the averages. Jose upped his game but could not live with price and was 8-12 at the interval.Jose missed the bull to break and 13-8. Jose then won 5 on the trot to level at 13-13. This was yet another fantastic watch.
Price stopped the rot and held, and then broke and threw for the win, and missed the bull but Jose took out 36 for a 10 darter and broke and throwing to make it 15-15, missed 5 darts, and Price wrapped it up and also became the world #1
This was the latest match in a comp that had countless fantastic games.
I had no idea if he was complaining if it was too soon or too late. My issue is the sick fuck actually went to the bother of checking what minute Gwynne died, and he then checked what time the son posted at.
