SATURDAY.
First up was Steve Lennon looking to be the first Irish player to pick up a win after every other mick was sent packing in Barry, O'Connor and Teehan. Lennon was the superior player in this game and won the first 2 sets against Larsson and in the third set missed darts to break and make it 2-2 in legs and throwing for the match and lost the set. In the 4th set Lennon broke right away and followed it with a 10 darter and broke again to wrap the match up 3-1.
Matt Campbell was on next taking on Scott Waites. It looked like Scott would win the first set after he broke early but Campbell broke back and won the set on throw with a 160 checkout The highest checkout of the comp so far, and the set had 5 maximums.The second set also went all 5 legs and was quality stuff with Waites leveling the match.Third set also went 5 legs and won on throw, this was a great watch. The fourth set went to a fifth leg, and it was 16 consecutive holds of throws, so when Waites held for a 17th consecutive hold of throw, it was now 2-2 in sets. Campbell held, and when Waites missed 2 darts to make it 19 consecutive holds, Campbell hit a 152 checkout to break, and was throwing for the match, but Waites then broke back and held so only fitting it went to a fifth leg like every other set, but Waites hit a maximum and took out 81 to win a great game. Waites averaged less than Lennon did in the game before, but it seemed higher due to the drama. Campbell had a respectful 94.
Next up we had the Belgian Orphan against Di Zhuang, with Kim wrapping up the first set in no time, and wrapped up the second set with a 118 average in it.The Asian qualifiers have been awful in general this year, and this guy Di Zhuang was another with a woeful performance. 3-0 it ended with Kim averaging 104.6, the highest of the comp so far. Over 31 points more than the useless Chinese cunt who hit the now lowest of the comp in 73.09.
Merv King was up against the vastly over rated Max Hopp. Merv battered Hopp in the first set, and Merv missed a rake of darts to win the second set, Hopp held, and then broke after Merv missed another set dart. Hopp then held throw and missed double 11 for the set, King punished him and took the set for a well deserved 2-0 lead in sets averaging 102, around 11 points more than Hopp. King missed darts to lead 2-0 in legs in the 4th set and throw for the match and it was costly as Hopp held and then broke, and was throwing for a set, but Merv hit a 5th maximum and then broke and was now throwing for the match. It was a great leg as Hopp missed the bull for a 170 checkout for the set, then King missed double 18 for a 156 and the match.Hopp took out the 25, and won the set. This was now turning it to yet another Ally Pally classic as Merv's game dropped whilst Hopps game was on the up. Hopp missed a dart to break and Merv held and then Merv broke despite Hopp hitting a max on his throw, Merv threw for the match and wrapped it up and finished with a 99.6. great stuff, and an enjoyable afternoon of darts.
First up in the evening was Nico Kurz and Andy Hamilton, I had zero interest in this and turned if off, and came back at 7pm and it was still only 1-1 in sets.Turned it off again and came back at half seven over an hour after it started and it had only just ended.Thankfully Hamilton lost, the sight of his with his fingers constantly stuck in his gob playing as slow as Durrant or Pipe could not interest me less. Then we had Boulton against Deta, and the political correctness bullshit hit overdrive as complete and utter horseshit was spewed. Not one cunt had the balls to speak the truth and say how Deta is a choker. If it was a man like Bellyboy, White or Chizzy, no problem calling a choker a choker, but because its a woman, lets bullshit people and hide the truth. I like Deta, comes across as a decent lady, and would have loved to see her win a Bob Potter Munter cup in the past, but she always shits herself, and if she cannot beat other munters she certainly aint beating a bloke and no pc bollix will alter that. Secondly like Ashton she was only there because of blatant sexism where the PDC made a comp for women only.
Deta hit a max in the first leg on throw, but missed 5 missed darts at a double has been the story of her career. Finishing on tv.
She lost the first set 3-0. Comms were struggling to make excuses for the fact the munters are not good enough, so instead rattled on and on about what she did in bdo shit, as if that mattered a fuck to a normal person. The comms during the game sounded like they were commentating on a fucking funeral when Deta went 2-0 down in sets. In the first leg of the third set Deta got a shot at a double for only the second leg in the match, and blew it, but got another chance and won a leg, and surprisingly as Boulton went to sleep and his average plummeted by 6 points Deta won a second leg. It took Boulton to go to shit for a munter to win a set. 2-1 in sets. It was a kick in the hole for Boulton who woke up again and when a man plays well, a munter loses, its that simple.
Tell me Uncle Barry, what the fuck did Deta offer this competition ?
She was only there because she was born a woman after qualifying via a sexist women's only qualifier. If the women want to play with the men let them qualify with the men, but they cannot because they are not good enough.
Good riddance to the munters who have no right being in the comp, just a pity Thunder Thighs and her stupid bullshit were not gone as well.
As for Deta, no surprise it was a sub 80 average, but she did manage more than what Mongo Jamie Hughes averaged in his match.
Then we had Aussie Damon Heta against Yank Danny Baggish, a true world champs clash. I watched a lot of him on the CDC yank tour and he was as capable of hitting averages over a ton or averages in the 70s.
After the first 2 shitty matches of the session the first set of this seemed like quality that went all 5 legs with Baggish take out 113 for the set. Second set also went the 5 legs and Baggish took out a 2 dart 76 for a 2 set lead.
With baggish waiting on 32 for a 2 leg lead in what could be the final set, Heta pulled out a 146 to make it 1-1 on legs and the set turned as Heta took out a 2 dart 81 to break and was throwing for the set....but Baggish hit a maximum and looked like breaking back and was on 43, but Heta pulled out another huge checkout of 160 for the set.....game on.
4th set, Heta held and then broke and was throwing to level the match. Heta's average was climbing, Baggish saw his dropping. Heta won the set with a 107 average.
Baggish had the throw in the final set and held first leg as did Damon, but Heta hit a maximum on his way to a break of throw and was throwing for the match, but Baggish missed 7 doubles to break back before Heta missed match darts and Baggish missed 2 more doubles to break and Heta missed 3 more match darts. This was incredible as Baggish got yet another chance and with his third dart on double one he got.
This deserved to go to a last leg....and Baggish who survived multiple match darts, started the decider with a 180 and Baggish had 2 scores in the 40s and then missed 2 match darts at tops. Heta then missed tops for the match, and Baggish won a dramatic game.Yet another Ally Pally classic.
I was done for the night, had no interest in watching the obese disgusting mouth breather Hunchback,and found out later he won 3-1, and Murray missed a dart to make it 2-2 each in sets at one point. Glad I missed it. The wife cheating prick had a 108 average. Ryan Murray lost with an average 20 points higher than what Jamie Hughes had.
SUNDAY
The main news of the day was that Cameron Carolissen got a bye in his match after Martjin Kleermaker was ruled out with Corona and replacement player Josh Payne was also out after contact with someone with corona.
The afternoon session started with Derk Telnekes against Nick Kenny, I wonder if he wore his "lucky watch". The first set was shit, even with a ton checkout to win the fifth leg and set by Derk. Kenny won the next after Derk missed a rake of doubles. Despite more missed doubles Derk took the third set, and in the fourth set Kenny ran away with it.
The score was 2-2 in sets, but Nick won 10 legs to Derk who only won 6. When Nick won his sets he won them 3-0. It was a good watch even if the quality was not the best. In the final set Derk had the throw but was broken right away, and when Kenny went 2-0 up it looked all over, and it was as Nick Kenny took it with his first match dart. That section of the draw looks atrocious, it had Wattimena, Lim, Kenny, Carolissen, Keegan Brown, Marc Almond, and the top players were Dimi and Chizzy....grim stuff.
Then we had Jason Lowe and Dmitriy Gorbunov who looks like a homosexual swedish school teacher....it was grim stuff and expected more from Lowe. The first 2 sets were the worst I saw in this comp. The third set was an improvement and the ruski missed the bull to win the set, but got another go and took the set. His average which was as low as 73 at one point was now almost 80. In the 4th set Lowe missed 4 match darts, before it went to a fifth leg in the set.Lowe left 84 after 9 and thankfully wrapped it up with a 12 darter....thank fuck for that.
Maik Kuivenhoven against Matthew Edgar did not fill me with hope either.
Edgar won the set 3-0, with the last leg seeing 3 maximums, but was poor otherwise. The second set went to Edgar, Maik was abysmal on doubles whilst Edgar was not missing much. Edgar wrapped it up quick after Maik bust 94 to stay in the match. Edgar had 75% on the doubles.Maik has now lost his tour card.
Then we had Speed jobber, the elongated string of misery up against Ron Muelenkamp. In set one, Ron's scoring went from sublime to ridiculous in the legs, and won the set despite Vinny having the darts. In set two Ron took out 144 to hold throw with Vinny waiting on 32 after 12 darts, the standard had really picked up. Vinny was averaging 121 in the set and was losing 2-1 in the set., and Ron broke him again to lead 2-0 in sets. I am no fan of the miserable cunt Vinny, but it was a harsh scoreline. Vinny did take the 3rd set with throw. The first leg of the 4th set, was eventually won by Vinny against the throw after both missed a heap of doubles, and Vinny won the set 3-0, so in to a deciding set, and Vinny with the throw. the first 4 legs went with throw so down to a last leg decider. Vinny with the throw hit a max in the leg, and missed tops for the match, but returned to wrap it up. A decent watch, with Vinny averaging almost 96.
Evening session started with Keegan Brown against Ryan Meikle, another left hander, seems to be a lot more left handers in the PDC than ever and outside Wade, the rest of them, Bailey, Muelenkamp, Mansell, Zonneveld etc are all shit, would Meikle be next to exit ?, only Wade and Mansell won their games. It looked like it when Keegan took the first set, and then the second with ease. With only 3 games and this looking like a quick game it would be an early finish. The third set went to a last leg dicder and Keegan held and won the match 3-0, it was harsh on Meikle who played well and lost with an 96 average, which I think was the highest losing average so far.
Scruffy cheating cunt Searle against the "youth player" Jeffrey de Zwaan was a game I thought would be quality and it started really well, and went to a fifth leg with Searle taking the set despite averaging over 7 points less in the averages.JdZ was unlucky then to be 2-0 down in sets as Searle had his share of luck, and when JdZ bust 38 in leg 2, Searle was throwing for the match. JdZ hit his 8th and 9th maximum in the leg to break, but Searle hit a max on his way to winning the leg, set and match. It was only 7.40pm and there was only one game left. Sky must have been praying for closer games.
Meikle lost with a 96 average
Jeffrey de Zwaan lost with a 98 average
Jeff Smith lost with a 95 average
Ryan Murray lost with a 95 average
yet the corona spreading Durrant won with an 88 average.....go figure.
Hendo was last on against Clayton, and normally it would be a game I could not give a flying fuck about, but with it being the only game of the night left, I had more interest in it. Clayton took the first set and fully deserved it, and when he went 2-0 up in sets, this was as good as over, but surprisingly Hendo won 3 legs on the trot to win the 3rd set. Hendo made it 5 legs on the trot, but Clayton broke, then held, and if the fifth leg Clayton hit a max and won the leg and the match.....it was only 8.40pm.
The deluded pit pony Clayton then in an interview claimed that "this is the first world championship I've played in where I feel I can win it".
Yeah Johnny, MVG will be shitting himself at your 90 average, might as well hand you the title ya fuckin gimp.
MONDAY.
Joyce against Ratajski kicked of the session, was a class first set, with the Pole winning the set on throw with a 105 average. Joyce missed 3 set darts before this set too also went to a fifth leg decider, and those misses were very costly as Ratajski broke and went 2-0 in set. The third set went 3-1 to the Pole and that was it, good game, but thought it would be closer. Ratajski finished with a 100 average, and despite losing 3-0 Joyce averaged 96.
Then we had Ian Shite against the Belgian Orphan Tintin. The first set went to Huybrechts after he took out 121. Huybrechts missed a set dart before White broke and took it to a fifth leg. This was quality darts. White had 3 darts for the set, in front of the cameras and sure enough shits himself. What a choking cunt....loses the set and trailed 2-0 despite averaging 108. The other prick Huybrechts was averaging 106. In the third set White missed another 2 set darts, and was lucky to get another go, as he eventually got a set. When Ian White missed 4 more darts to hold throw, Kimmy broke and was throwing for the match. but surprisingly Shite broke back after Kimmy missed a match dart at tops, so White was throwing to level the match 2-2 in set and Kimmy hit a maximum and White shat his load and followed it with a 59. The guy is a fucking disgrace, he is without doubt one of the all time greatest chokers in history. He rivals the likes of Chris Mason, Terry Jenkins, Ronnie Baxter, Tony O Shea, Wayne Mardle, Dave Chisnall and Bellyboy Smith.
On the plus side, his time in the top 10 looked over as his #9 position would soon drop with so many around him still in the comp. Both players averaged over a hundred, and I truly believe Ian shite could average 110 and still find a way to lose it.
Up next was the coal miners derby, which was a foregone conclusion. When I turned it back on saw it was 1-1 in sets, surprised Lewis got one, the averages said I missed fuckall. Price woke up and took the third set with a 160 checkout. Lewis held and then broke in the 4th set and held again to level the match. I certainly had not expected this.
In the first let of the fifth set, Lewis needed 68 to break, and he bust it, and Gerwyn held, That was the chance of a huge upset gone , especially after Lewis missed 3 darts to hold and Price took out 116 and threw for the match.
Last up was Clemens against Kurz, with the first 2 sets shared. Kurz missed doubles to hold throw in the third and cost him the set. A decent watch although I expected more from Clemens, although Kurz hit some huge checkouts including a 160, and a 161. In the 4th set Clemens finally woke up and threw some great darts and missed 3 match darts to wrapped up the set 3-0, but Kurz broke, but Clemens with yet another couple of missed match darts, returned and finally wrapped it up for a 3-1 in sets. It was another enjoyable game.
TUESDAY
If ever there was an typical afternoon match, it was Brendan Dolan against the Taffinese Foulkes. Dolan took out 105 to win the first. 105 was also his match average. Foulkes missed a set dart in set 2, but still had the throw in the 5th leg of the set and leveled the match 1-1. Dolans average dropped from 105 in set one to now averaging 87, so must have averaged in the 70s for that set.one good set, one abysmal set, and the third set was average, Dolan missed 2 set darts, and Foulkes missed one, before Dolan took the set , and also took the next to win 3-1 in sets. After a bright start it was a poor watch. Joe Cullen against Wayne Jones followed, with Cullen taking the first set with ease, and despite Jones up his game, took the second as well. In the third Cullen broke Jones after hitting 2 maximums, and won the match on throw, 94 average for Joe.
The crusty homeless looking Shitlock stank up my screen next against Darius Labanauskaus, with Darius taking the first set, but after that shitlock got in to gear and threw some good stuff and rattled off the next 2 sets. Darius broke the throw in set 4 and held for a 2 leg lead and throwing for the set missed double 16, and Shitlock broke and was throwing for the match , and waiting on 36 for the match, Darius took out 164 for the set, and 2 sets all, pure class. The final set was all one sided as Shitlock averaged around 128 for the set until he missed a heap of match darts, but eventually wrapped it up and finished a great match with a ton plus average.
FatP&Ot...a term I coined for Adrian Lewis that others have not only robbed but taken credit for was up against the Yank Baggish.
Baggish missed double 5 for 5 legs on the trot, and Lewis was in trouble, but managed to hold and had 3 visits to take out double 8 and blew them all. Lewis was averaging around 80 at this stage, and 1 from 16 on the doubles and scores of 22 and was deservedly soon 2 sets down. Lewis took out a crucial 84 to just hold throw and then took out 127 to break and take the set with a 100 average. In the 4th set he hit a 171 to set up a double and broke throw, and held with ease, and Baggish took out 170, and with 170 left for Lewis he too went for the bull and missed, and even missed 2 set darts, and Baggish broke and throwing for the match. Lewis fucked up going for the bull. Baggish sealed the win in a set Lewis should have won. A decent afternoon of darts. Oh how I wish MVG was managed by Keith Deller.
In the evening session I was expecting Marc Almond to hammer the South African Carolissen who only was there due to a bye. So when Carolissen won the first set 3-0 I was surprised, even if Noppert threw muck averaging 69. Noppert averaged 92 in the second set and was lucky to win it. In set 3 the African had a chance to break throw, but wasted it. Excuse after excuse was made for Noppert by the assholes of Mardle and Thunder thighs, whilst Noppert was doing his amateur dramatics as if he was entitled to be throwing better. Noppert did take the set on throw to lead 2-1 and the next set went 5 legs as Cameron missed chances to make it 2-2 in set, before Noppert won. A stinker of a match, the sort of shit you would witness at the Bob Potter Salmonella centre it was that bad. Both averaged in the 80s but it seemed lower. Still the African got 15k for playing one match, that is 5k more than Jim Williams got for reaching a bdo "world pro" final.In fact getting to the last 32 would assure you of a bigger pay day than what Wayne Warren got for winning the bdo mickey mouse shit.
This just reinforced my belief this comp only starts after xmas when its the last 32, The rounds before xmas just a thank you to the fringe players, and the hope of some shocks.
Then we had Steve Lennon against Peterson. No surprise the comms were kissing the hole of Peterson, as for Lennon, fuck him, he is white and a mick, why should the comms be impartial , that wont tick any pc boxes, so the slurping of Devon went in to overdrive.Lennon hit a 13 darter to break and left 36 after 12 to win the set....but Lennon missed 8 set darts. You could hear the comms almost grateful. Lennon then missed 2 set darts for the set, and Devon was 2-0 up in sets. This was Ian White levels of choking. Peterson did not deserve to be 2-0 up. Lennon missed darts to save the match in the third set, and got another chance after Peterson missed 4 match darts, and Lennon got another chance and broke throw and was throwing for the set, and sure enough got darts for another set and missed all 3....got another visit and missed another 3, and was even given a third visit and still failed to win the set....he even got a 4th visit after Peterson missed more match darts, and Lennon won a set. He missed 34 darts at a double at this point. Devon missed 7 match darts. If Lennon was not such a choking cunt he could have won this 3-0. At 2-0 in legs, Lennon had 2 darts to save the match....of course he missed.
The game had 72 missed doubles and 2 cunts that averaged in the 80's. I am disgusted with myself for even watching it.
Then we got a promo of the most annoying cunts in darts telling christmas cracker jokes. You would have needed to be mentally disturbed and the offspring of your own sister to find that shit funny. Then we had the modern day Keith Deller in Rob Dross against Dirk van Duijvenbode, which meant endless references to aubergines, since that too is suppose to be funny. Covid is killing the wrong people.
After the last shit calling itself a match , Rob Dross and Dirk was a quality first set, that had 5 maximums and both players averaging 104....which was won by Rob Dross. Dirk leveled the match after Rob went off the boil. Set 3 went to Cross on throw, Set 4 saw Dirk win the set 3-0 despite a heap of missed double. Game deserved a last set decider., and it went to the fifth leg for a last leg shootout and Cross with the throw. Dirk left 99 after 9 and got a shot at it, with Cross waiting on 12 and took it out. I wont miss Cross, that said Dirk's over celebrations are really starting to annoy me. I don't like it when hunchback and Vermin do it. With Cross losing, if Aspinall reached the semi final he will go fourth and get the automatic PL spot. Cross would be out of pl automatic selection.
Up next was a player more feminine than Lisa Ashton in Dimitri van den Bergh against Paul Lim.and Dimitri won the first set, averaging over 35 points more than Lim, 115 to 79. Lim upped his game in set 2, but made little difference as Dimi won the next and was still averaging 109, and finished the match 3-0 averaging 105.
WEDNESDAY.
Missed the start of the Mansell and Evans game and only got home to see Evans level the match in sets 1-1, and looking at the averages it suggested Mansell was the better player. In the 3rd set comms told us how Evans was only waking up and he threw some good stuff in this set averaged 110 in it and led the match 2-1 in sets.When Evans broke right away next set, this was as good as over, Evans won 3-1 with an average 93 after a poor start.
We had lazy Gary Anderson against Madars Razma. Ando won a dull first ser, but in set 2 Madars went 2-0 up in legs hit 7 perfect darts in the third leg and lost the leg, nect leg he started with 6 perfect darts, and this time he won the leg and the set averaging 110 despite a heap of missed doubles. Ando won the third set easily enough and the next for the match. Comms kissed his hole throughout.
Bunting against Boulton was on third, and in the third leg, Boulton took out 129 on the bull to break and held with an 11 darter for the first set, averaging 94, As for Bunting he was averaging 76. I still laugh at the complete dickheads on one darts forum who tried to tell us there was only 2 players in the world better than Bunting when he switched. I said at the time he would make the top 16 and then drop out. Of course I was proven right. I still go and read that thread to laugh my bollix of at the defective cunts and their so called "knowledge of the game". In set Boulton took out 149, and Bunting took out 148 to just hold throw, and then Boulton went to shit, with Bunting taking the set to level. Boulton's game was gone, and Bunting ran away with the third set. In set 4 Boulton was lucky to hold throw and broke next leg after Bunting missed darts at a double. Boulton hit a 165 to leave 140 and then bust the 140, the second time 140 was bust in this comp. Boulton did wrap up the set, and on to a fifth set with the first 4 legs went with throw, so a last leg decider and Bunting with the throw and what a last leg. Bunting started with a 177, Boulton even hit a maximum and left 81 after 9, and did not even get a shot as Bunting took out 84 for an 11 darter. It was a decent watch as it got better as it went on.
Last up for the afternoon was Mensur Suljovic against Matthew Edgar. I thought even as bad as Mensur was this year he would win this easy, and when he took the first set 3-0 it seemed so, but Edgar took the second set and upset some peoples bets.
Mensur got his act together and wrapped up the third set and 4th set for the win with an average of 98.
Evening session saw the insufferable Keegan Brown who earlier in the week in a desperate need for attention went on about front line workers, cunt works in a lab away from the public on the Isle of Wight. He was up against Chizzy, who was liable to be beaten by anyone. The first set went all 5 legs and was won by Brown after Chizzy missed a set dart. He missed another set dart in the second set, and in the 5th leg of the set he had the throw, and missed another set dart, and he was lucky Brown missed a set dart, before he leveled the game.
Chizzy missed more darts at a double to break, but Brown was as bad, and gave Chizzy multiple chances and once Chizzy hit a 144 checkout for the set . In the 4th Brown had 6 darts at 171 for the set, and after 6 was not even on a double, Chizzy broke and held for the match. A deserved win and Chizzy averaged 11 points more than Brown.
Then we had the prick Nick Kenny, and not even his "lucky watch" would get him a win against Wattimena as I predicted a 3-0 win. Wattimena won the first set with a sweet 92 checkout. Kenny won the second , mainly because Wattimena went to shit. In set 3 Wattimena took out a 156 to break and then missed 6 darts to hold for the set, but still won the set.
Set 4 Kenny started to hit a couple of maximums, and broke Wattimena, but could not hold his throw as Wattimena broke back and won the match. Not the best quality, it was very patchy, but played at a good pace.
With Cross out, Aspinall had a great chance to close the gap for the #4 spot in the OoM, as he took on the carpenter. Waites started well and won the first set 3-1 with a 108 average.Set 2 saw Waites with the advantage of throw and even a 160 checkout from Aspinall could stop Waites going 2-0 up in sets and was averaging 107 at this point. Aspinall was getting fuckall for his 95 average. Waites was in his element,and felt really comfortable playing in front of no crowd, then years in the bdo gave him plenty practice of that. Set 3 saw Aspinall with the darts and won the set after breaking Waites to win 3-1 in legs. Asp's average went up 3 points as Waites dropped by 5 points. Set 4, Asp broke Waites with a 104 in leg 1, and soon led 2-1 in legs and throwing for a second set but Waites hit a maximum and missed 3 darts to break, and Asp claimed the set. The game deserved a fifth set, and was great viewing. Asp hit a 150 checkout in leg one to just hold throw with Waites on 48.Waites missed 3 darts to hold, ,and Asp missed a dart to break. Leg 3 saw Asp start with a score of 24, and Waites broke with a sweet 125 of bull 25, bull. The timing was also perfect as he now was throwing for the match and hit a max before missing 4 match darts, his 3 attempts at double 10 were woeful and total choking darts, and Asp broke to take it to a deciding leg. Aspinall made no mistake and wrapped it up.
Waites lost with a 96 average,and would have been higher had his game not deserted him in the end. Was a good game and a great watch, Waites would have won this against a bdo player with ease who would roll over, in the PDC most players dont roll over and will fight back as Aspinall did. Well some have a history of choking which aptly bring me to the final game and this weeks Knob of the week.
Up next was Bellyboy against the boring Lowe.
Lowe started on fire, and led 2-0 before Lowe missed 3 darts for the set, but Bellyboy fucked up and allowed Lowe back and with his 6 set dart hit it for the set. The last 32 loos a great line up, but in the end my only wish is that MVG does not win the comp.
