It seems like each week the commentary, or the so called experts on the panel get progressively week. Last week we had the meaningless, non ranking exbo nonsense that was the World Series finals, and throughout I like so many others was subjected to absolute nonsense throughout, being told how fat short Josh Cock should be a contender for the PL. Seems doing well in a non ranking event matters, yet the PDC in the past have left out multiple players in the past that won proper ranking televised comps like the European championships.
The levels of bullshit spouted last weekend was off the hook. We got hunchback MvG who was lucky to beat the Match fixer after the cheat missed a match darts, then comms told us Mv was back. Hunchback then was lucky to win his next game after Rob Cross missed multiple match darts, and again we were told a player who was lucky to win was back. MvG only beat Humphries cos Humphries was dogshit , as Humphries himself had to survive match darts against Wade. Yes MvG played solid against a worn out obese and unfit Littler, but in a meaningless event. If MvG is truly back then he would not be ranked 100th in the race for the Players Championships final...an actual proper ranking event. Comms think if they keep on repeating the lies, bullshit and hype over and over the viewers and fans will simply just accept the bullshit.
Also in the World Series we were told by comms how Barney was "a fighter", you could not make this shit up. I am glad ITV might be done with the darts, sick of their shit comms, retarded adverts where its non stop cancer begging, some starving donkey, homeless dogs, and third world cunts looking for yet another handout, just fuck off with the emotional blackmail.
Then we had the scruffy mentally deficient hun supporting spastic Menzies who was a disgrace and averaged 66 the lowest average in the history of the event. Clayton did his choking in the next game, as he blew it against Littler. Price then choked against Littler in the semi Do you know why Cullen laughed when he lost, or why Menzies did not give a fuck, or why Wade was not frustrated missing match darts against Humphries, or Clayton blowing multiple doubles for 5-5 in his game with Littler, or Price seemed not to be pissed off throwing it away to Littler ? because the players themselves know it is a completely meaningless event that is just filler, and does not alter their ranking money, just another glorified exbo that is worthless in the scheme of things.
Then we had this week speed jobber Vinny van der Voort claim “I think the youth are going to take over darts more and more, You’re going to see fewer older players who can keep going and stay competitive on the Pro Tour. They simply won’t be able to last as long.". Is this suppose to be some amazing fucking insight by the speed jobber ? Young players will always arrive, and have their runs and 99% of all players have a short window. Outside of Taylor and Wade how many more are there that remained in the top 16 for 2 decades ?
Vinny then said you still see exceptions like Gary Anderson & Peter Wright who are still at the top at their age He claimed Barney is even competing at 58. Speed jobber Vinny rambling on about the players over the age of 50 somehow ignored Jonny Clayton the World #6, simply forgot about Gilding who is arguably having the best run of his career .
Then you have the players like Bunting and Wade, the world #4 & #5 who are both over 40 and climbing the rankings for the last year plus. Yes there will always be great young talent emerge, even without Littler we have Van Veen, Springer etc, year after year in the past we had the likes of Rod Harrington tell us James Hubbard or some other forgotten jobber like Arron Monk was a future world champion. Its the same year in year out, has been that way for decades and will be the same in the future, players will come and go, some will be long term cloggers, some burn bright quickly and fade as fast, its just the nature of the game.
The reason Taylor, Ando, Barney, Clayton, Wright etc can all perform over the age of 50 is because of their experience and ability. Darts is not nor ever has been a sport. Its a game than i not physically demanding hence why out of shape older guys can dominate for so long. Mason, Mardle and the rest of the morons can repeat it ad nauseam its a sport but if darts were truly a sport, then Taylor would not have won a world title in his 50s. Simon Whitlock would not have got to within a set of a World final whilst on fucking crutches. This is a game where Jocky Wilson, Andy Fordham, and Alun Evans all drank themselves to death, and countless others have alcohol problems like Les Wallace that almost killed him. That is not counting those fined and suspended for failing tests for cocaine, speed and other party drugs. The cheats in real sports are taking performance enhancing drugs not the ones dart players take. How many players have been banned for recreational drugs, how many appeared pissed on tv in interviews and comms have you believe its a "sport"
Have you seen the fucking state of Littler and Rock for example . How can these 2 kids allow themselves to be that obese ? They should be ashamed of themselves for allowing themselves get that fat. Credit to Krusty who shed some weight at his age, sad state of affairs when a former potbellied man in his 50s is in better shape than some of the "kids" in the game....yes game, cos it ain't a sport.
EURO TOUR
The crowd in Hungary for this was superb, not just in terms of turnout and attendance but the behaviour of them also. It was one of the most respectful crowds I have ever seen on the euro tour, only Gibraltar was quieter because the ones in Gibraltar were empty and had few fans. There was a few upsets, such as Gilding and Dirk going out to Dennent and Bissell, Fattimena going out to Tricole and Scot Beveridge sending the match fixer out was my favourite of the day. The best game of the round was Van Veen and Springer, with the German "wading" the Dutchman who averaged 10 points more than Springer.
