KNOB OF THE WEEK

Last week I wrote how the gulf between the elite top players and the lower ranks is increasing , it's never been more evident with the changes that were made in regards to the European tour.
This week in what for me which may be great news for lower ranked players and their chances to make some extra money was the report in the Evening standard where Twat Porter said of the world championships "“Increasing the size of the field is something that’s at the front of our minds at the moment,”
Right away supposed so called dart fans were crying how it would only lengthen the world championships, have more dross etc.
Surely having more players in a ranking tournament , live on tv over the winter months would seem a good thing for me. All these supposed dart fans crying have a very simple option, do not watch it if you are not interested, much like how I have little or no time for the non ranking events of the Premier league or World Series events so do not watch the majority of them.
As said with the gulf between the lower ranked players increasing I fail to see how more players get a chance of a pay day can be a bad thing.
But lets not kid ourselves, the PDC are increasing the field obviously for viewing figures, advertising etc, ticket sales etc and I can understand that but lets not kid ourselves pretending its because Twat Porter cares for the lower ranked players. The Aforementioned euro tour rules shows that they clearly do not.

This report was not long out before the PDC then went and shot themselves in the foot when they announced how the non ranking Masters was now going to be a 32 man field and will be ranked, yet again causing a greater gulf between the top and the bread and butter players, with things like this I suspect a lot of players will have doubts about Q-school, when there are more viable options elsewhere, between the seniors tour for those old enough, or the Development tour for those young enough, as well as Modus, and of course the challenge tour. Players in the past have given up tour cards, and with the rules constantly creating a greater divide I fear things will only get worse. I can understand the PDC rewarding the elite players with the Premier League, even the world Series, use non ranked events to boost viewers, ticket sales etc, but a line should be drawn  on ranking events and efforts should be made so that new tour card holders are not punished because of their rankings but making the masters now ranking, along with the euro tour changes is not good for the game. Ranking darts to a certain degree should be a level playing field, I enjoy the CDC as its ranked with the side benefit of Ally Pally spots, Challenge and Dev tours have their benefits but in order to coerce younger players to challenge they should not be playing in a level playing field

MODUS MATCH FIXING SERIES

Their champions week was on this week and I have to say I enjoyed a lot of his with some quality matches, sadly we had to put up with the retarded cunt Paul Nicholson and PDC Tour card failure Scott Mitchell who spent the week kissing the hole of Neil duff who again failed to qualify for champions night. Every time Duff was called a "former World champion" I smirked or giggled to myself curious as to how many inbred genetic defects atually believe this horseshit. 2 of the players involved Tom Sykes and Connor Scutt are for me along with Wesley Plaiser as 3 of the best players in the world without a tour card.Even on Friday night long after duff was out the gap, Nicholshit was still ranting about this over rated jobber. Since I am working sunday and will be staying in on Saturday, will look forward to this with 6 players I enjoy watching. will be a nice follow up to the PDC Euro tour.

PDC EURO TOUR
Like many Friday's, the opening sessions does contain a lot of the lower players, home qualifiers, all fighting it out for a living, and the Friday afternoon session was one for the purists, as for the evening, Wade was poor but his opponent even worse, Wright did enough but seeing Barney go out early is always a joy. Mensur who has been in decent form lately for the first time in ages dumped out babs, another result I enjoyed.

Now as we approach September the real  darts season take shape and the ranking events will be coming thick and fast..........
