As expected there is no news from the BDO on their position for the munters who may choose to play in the PDC qualifiers for the Munter's spot in the real World championships at Ally Pally, and an assured prize of 7.5k.
What can the BDO do ?
Ban them from future events ?
What fucking events ?
Then maybe Des might try to ban those women who enter, as it might be the only way his wife could win a game at Bob potters January jobber Jamboree.
Even Chris Mason who only promotes the BDO when he is being paid by them, has vehemently insisted Lakeshite 2019 is not on channel 4 and Bob Potter will not be covering the prizefund.
No chance on earth that BT sport will be coughing up the full cost for the entire broadcast production, and hearing that even their most loyal supporter Winmau are done with them.
It would be hilarious if Lakeshite was not on TV and the prize fund slashed to pittance. That said I hope it is on tv, we need live comedy during those winter months as we recover from the christmas holidays and the excitement of Ally Pally.
What I have seen on forums and on social media it appears the Vizcaya Open in Spain has to be propped up with prize money, and the Scottish Classic which last year had a first prize of £2k has seen the first prize reduced to 500 quid, and the last 16 offering a whole 15 quid.
Would you even bother ?
The BDO probably spent more on flyers for the milkmen of Preston than what this comps now gives out.
Even Phantom of the Opera Glen Durrant who contacted me this week must surely be regretting his decision to stay. He was not the first player to be hoodwinked and force fed bullshit that he swallowed by the BDO over the years, who can forget Tony bottler O Shea making the claim the BDO was gonna grow during the "new era" fiasco under Warren Brown.
I think Durrant is a good player, ok he will never be a top ten PDC player, and believe it or not is a nice guy who did an interview for this blog in the past, but surely he has to say enough is enough with this BDO shit.
Were Durrant in the PDC he could be involved in World Series events down the line, and make a comfortable living for himself.
In the BDO you travel to delipated holiday camps for pittance, or in the PDC play world Series events in Dubai, Las Vegas and down under for proper money, and that is just the non ranking events. No fear of a cheque being witheld in the PDC either.
Glen supposedly made a deal to play Lakeshite again, however if the prizemoney diminishes then why honor a deal the BDO made if the cannot fulfill their end of said deal.
Glen also needs to realize that he needs the PDC more than the PDC need him.
As for the rest of the clowns in the BDO, who are either total shit, too old or simply chicken shit cunts I am delighted to see their prize money dwindle.
Though that wont matter to cunts like Parletti who said in the past playing for the BDO was all about honour, good job as he wont be making much money wise.
So now just a matter of time to see what damage limitation proposal will be spewed out by the bdo board in the coming weeks.
The 2019 calendar already a source of amusement with the next CatasTrophy given no date or venue, let alone prize money.
And giving people like me a "few slaps" wont solve that shit.
