It might appear a tad ridiculous awarding Knob of the Week to Wes Newton considering he only won a euro event last weekend, but lets look at the bigger picture, and lets be honest as well, Nicholson should have won the euro event but bottled it, and it could be argued that is why Nicholson is not in the Premier League
We all know Wes is a solid enough player however he is not short at coming forward and having a whine or moan at being overlooked, but who can blame people for not selecting him before ?.He has as much charm as a bucket of piss, as dull and boring as Justin Pipe and as entertaining as a Fatz stand up routine.. The new set up of the PL was enough to incorporate him into it with affecting the overall set up.
Now he had the chance to show what he could do and when it came to the crunch on thursday he bombed, at least Gary Anderson can say he lost to a James Wade who took every chance and played brilliant, Adrian Lewis performed well bar his doubling and the pathetic performance of Simon Whitlock did not really matter as he knew he was safe, but Wes had the easiest match on paper and as it turned out Andy Hamilton was very poor and Wes was even worse, and went out of the PL without even a whimper, and I would be very surprised if anyone truly ever wanted to see him back in it.
