In a last leg decider he started with a maximum, led by 189 points at one stage, had 6 darts at 98, and scored 58 so returned for 3 title darts at darts and missed them. In his post match interview he claimed it looked like he choked...no shit.
Is he the greatest choker in darts, that is down to opinion, but he is choking enough to certainly become a contender if not already that in some peoples eyes.

Years back in the PDC the old ranking system was equally as fucked up as it once had Colin Lloyd as the World #1 due to him garnering ranking points on entering every event, whilst the true world #1 Phil Taylor was only entering the comps that mattered and with it scooping the vast bulk of the prize money on offer. The system now is obviously better, but it has some serious flaws when Smith can be that high, in fact at one stage he was even higher.
A system is needed where winners of proper Majors receive some double points for actual comps wins, or some system where actual winners of comp are rewarded, and can climb quicker in a ranking system than someone who perform brilliant until it is quarter final, semi final or final time and then shit themselves.
I previously thought Ian White cornered the market on shitting himself on TV at some stage, but now we have Smith and Chizzy vying for that honour, and these are all in the top 10, again showing how flawed the system is.
Whilst on the topic of the Masters, Smith's choke meant it may have saved Chiz-Nil the chance of winning after his average in the 70s saw him raped 10 nil. A mention for Vermin Price as well who in a first to 10 match was also battered and like Chizzy failed to win a single leg on his throw.
I forgot to mention the recent PDC awards, which amused me no end due to some award winners not only being ridiculous, but for making zero sense.

The Dutch Open took place last weekend and of course with the PDC masters on, who really gave a fuck about the Dutch open.
